| SYLENT "562": "This CD was my first ever rapping debut. This was the first time that I ever rapped on a mic so I was not too comfortable and you can tell in my voice but fuck it. I had to get my name out there some how. This CD was meant to be my low-budget demo with recycled instrumentals but then I just kept recording songs until it was a full-length demo CD. After everyone kept telling me that it sounded more better than some of these "real CDs" that Chicano rappers were dropping, I was like 'Fuck it', I'm gonna try to sell this shit. Middle Finger Recordz began with dropping this CD as a big FUCK YOU to the industry. I was thinking 'It may be a demo low-budget-but-fuck-it but I'm still gonna drop it, I'm still gonna promote it and I'm still gonna sell it'. The next thing I knew, the gente were buying it and I began to create a little street buzz while I recorded songs for my second CD "The Walk". I named this CD "562" as a shout out to the area that I live, coming straight out of South East Los Angeles, Norwalk Area. I felt it was time for someone to put it down for the 562 since it's never really been repped to the fullest. This is our year 5-6-2002. I tried to give something to everyone...The songs on this CD got the crazy pyscho sound, its got Sureno raps, player shit, raw sexxx, a dedication to those hynas who lost their vatoz to the streets and an updated oldie just for the ladies. The main goal of this CD was to just show the listener that I got many sides and many personalities so don't pigeon-hole me. You'll never know half of me." -Sylent |
